Paid Family Caregivers Services
At KMK Care LLC, we are committed to supporting families by offering Paid Family Caregiver services through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver Program. If you are already taking care of a loved one at home, this program is right for you. It allows eligible family members to be compensated tax-free for providing care to their loved ones, following specific state guidelines.
How It Works
- Consultation: Begin with a consultation where KMK Care will assist in determining your eligibility for the program and applying for Medicaid if needed. Typically a formal assessment is required to determine eligibility based on the relationship between the caregiver and the care recipient (Refer to Eligibility Matrix below) as well as the level of care needed.
- Care Planning: You will work with our care managers to develop a personalized care plan that meets your loved one’s needs.
- Caregiver Training: KMK Care will provide comprehensive training to you (family caregiver), equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver the best care possible.
- Service Delivery: Once approved, you as a family caregiver can begin providing care, and KMK Care will handle the administrative details, including compensation.
- Quarterly Follow-Up: KMK Care will conduct quarterly follow-ups to ensure that the care plan is being implemented effectively and that the caregiver and care recipient are fully supported.
General Requirements:
- The individual must be enrolled in one of the Medicaid Waiver programs, such as the Aged & Disabled, Health & Wellness, or Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver.
- The caregiver must be 18 years of age or older.
- The caregiver must have no criminal record.
- The caregiver must be legally able to work in the United States.
- The caregiver must be physically and mentally able to provide the needed services.
